Puraclean GmbH cleans heat exchangers and cold stores in the food industry using cleaning systems from mycon GmbH

Puraclean GmbH has been working closely with the companies mycon GmbH and Kipp Umwelttechnik GmbH for more than four years, and for some time now also exclusively in Switzerland with the JetMaster cleaning system from mycon in Germany. JetMaster cleans finned heat exchangers of all types by means of high velocity / cavitation. Only 0.20-0.75 liters of water per minute are used for this. This means that the process can also be used in moisture-sensitive environments. The overall JetMaster+ system offers four different combination options that can be precisely tailored to the cleaning task.

Cleaning finned heat exchangers in the interior of food production or storage areas is always a critical issue and is therefore sometimes postponed for as long as possible. JetMaster even offers the option of cleaning heavily loaded finned heat exchangers in these areas without removing them. Special nozzles are used here. The extremely small amount of water required for cleaning – less than 0.50 l per minute – can be collected together with the cleaning residues and then disposed of.

At the beginning of this year (2018), Puraclean further strengthened its collaboration with mycon and Kipp Umwelttechnik and also began cleaning plate heat exchangers and shell-and-tube heat exchangers of all types. The necessary equipment and mycon’s many years of international experience are now fully available to Puraclean for this purpose. Exchangers of this type are also cleaned either mechanically using a blasting process or with mostly “green” chemicals, which are already used in the food sector.

Safety thanks to the process for cleaning cold stores certified by Wessling GmbH (Hanover)

Puraclean also carries out cold store cleaning. A process developed by mycon and a cleaner also developed by mycon are used for this purpose. Processes and cleaners are available from Wessling officially tested and certified for food compatibility and safety, including the mycon operating instructions. When Puraclean is commissioned, this ensures that the cleaning process complies with food law. The process has clear advantages over other methods:

  • Cleaning without switching off the cold store
  • Goods can remain in the cold store during cleaning (only approx. 40 % open space is required)
  • Savings on rental costs for a refrigerated container
  • No additional personnel costs for the relocation of goods
  • No interruption of the cold chain
  • Deep-freeze temperature is maintained, eliminating the additional energy costs required for re-cooling
  • Little time required (approx. 5 hours for 45 m²)
